Surviving A Shark Attack Part II

In last weeks post, I provided some tips for avoiding a shark attack. This week I will give you some tips for what to do if you ever find yourself near the mouth of a shark.

There are three types of shark attacks and depending on the type of attack, your chance of survival different.

1)   The casual encounter:

This happens when a shark and a human cross paths unintentionally. Remember, sharks don’t have hands, nor do they speak our language. We are in their home and sometimes when they see us they want to know what we are doing there! Keep in mind sharks migrate and they may not be accustomed to seeing people.

2.)  The breech attack:

This is when a shark sees the victim from below and breeches to the top quickly. This type of attack often ends with fatal wounds due to the immense force behind the attack. But look at the bright side, you never see it coming and it’s over in seconds.

3.) The bump and bite:

The shark begins to circle…this is the most deadly kind of attack because it means the shark has already decided you are dinner. The bump and bite is EXTREMELY rare and only happens in areas where food is scarce or there is blood in the water so the shark believes  you are easy prey.
